It is very rare for a broodmare to produce two Group 1 performers that go on to a stallion career but Prophet Jewel, the dam of both Proisir and Divine Prophet is a ‘blue hen’ mare that has achieved that exceptional feat!
When James inspected the Proisir filly from Safari Sunset at the Inglis Classic Sale this filly went straight to the top of the list as a must have for JHB Syndications based on her outstanding physical qualities. James describes this filly as ‘graceful and athletic with great strength and presence and an outstanding demeanour.’
Proisir is by Choisir who has already proven himself as a sire of sires through the deeds of Starspangledbanner amongst several other promising young sons in the infancy of their stud careers. This exciting young stallion prospect from New Zealand finished in the placings in 6 of his 7 race starts and he beat all but the champion Dundeel in the Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes and Group 1 Randwick Guineas in his three-year-old year. Combine that with the fact that this filly is from a current female family that has produced Group 1 winners Surprize Surprize as well as Group 2 winner Dixie Blossom and you can see why the JHB Syndications team are very excited and optimistic about her prospects.
To be trained by Tony McEvoy, this filly has the strength, presence and precocity to be an early two-year-old and a pedigree to suggest she can train on to the Classic races in her three year old year.
