Magic Sunset saunters to maiden victory

Fighting Sun filly Magic Sunset broke her maiden in sensational style today, making all of the running and winning by a widening six lengths under a motionless Jamie Kah. This impressive victory followed a promising debut for Magic Sunset, of whom trainer Tony McEvoy has always held a high opinion.

Rider Kah said, “she’s special – that was just a track gallop for her and she had ten gears left.”

Magic Sunset now heads to the 1300m Handicap at Cranbourne on Sunday 14th October, and from there a long-range target of the Listed Lexus Hybrid Stakes at Flemington on Melbourne Cup day. What a thrill it would be for her owners to have a runner on the day of the race which stops a nation!
